For the last six years, the NPPS Foundation has held the “Steppin’ Out For Education” walk for the students of North Platte School District. Come rain or shine, our students have shown up in droves to earn money for their classrooms. Along with the students come many of their families. The Bulldog Backyard BBQ is an extension of the student event designed to include the entire North Platte Community! |

Bar-B-Q bragging rights!! Awards will be given out recognizing North Platte’s BEST BBQ teams. A Fan Favorite award will also be given out! |

Last year’s Bulldog Backyard BBQ at the North Platte Football game brought over 500 customers! Because of the scale of our event, the media coverage, and the “walk” immediately preceding the Bar-B-Q, we fully expect a record turnout this year! We also plan to advertise to the opposing team’s parents and fans coming to North Platte for the game. |

Due to the Foundation’s fundraising success, we were able to award over $10,000 in Grants to our Educators during the 2010/2011 school year. Over $143,000 has been awarded in past years. Grants fund projects such as the “Kindle Club” at Madison Middle School, “Platte River Geology Walk” at NPHS, “Chef Celebration” at Washington Elementary, and many others. |

North Platte has a history of supporting its students and their families. Consistent with this support, we anticipate the community will come together and enjoy the fun family atmosphere, unique BBQ, and great competitive home football game. |

This event will be promoted EVERYWHERE! In the newspaper, yard signs, on flyers, banners within the schools, on radio, live remotes, and on television! We will have local media persons on site the night of the event helping to make this a HUGE success. |

The North Platte Public Schools Foundation would like to invite you to participate as a sponsor in the 2012 Bulldog Backyard BBQ/”Steppin’ Out for Education. Please take a few moments to look over the enclosed sponsorship opportunities.
The date for this year’s Bulldog Backyard BBQ/”Steppin’ Out for Education” event will be set very soon! Over the past two years, over 25 different grill teams have competed for the title of “Best BBQ in North Platte”. Our goal is to have over 30 BBQ teams vying for the title this year while also competing for the “Fan Favorite” award! The Bulldog Backyard BBQ and “Students Steppin’ Out for Education” walk help support the REACH teacher grants, Prepared to Learn Fund, and many other vital programs of the North Platte Public Schools Foundation.
The REACH teacher grants give monies for our educators to provide innovative and motivating instructional lessons and materials at all grade levels within our schools. With the help of the North Platte community, the NPPS Foundation has been able to award over $143,000 to the educators within our district over the last 13 years.
At this time, we are asking for your written commitment to the 2012 Bulldog Backyard BBQ/”Steppin’ Out for Education” event. We would be more than happy to speak to you personally to discuss ideas or suggestions you may have to customize the sponsorship to benefit your company’s needs.
