Cody Courts Project

The City of North Platte, North Platte Tennis Association, North Platte Pickleball, & our community are working together to rebuild Cody Park Tennis Courts. A multi-sport design with dedicated courts for tennis and pickleball. The NP Tennis Association started a fund with the Foundation for the community and alumni tennis players to support the Cody Park Courts Rebuild Project.  Additional grants and fundraising efforts are being worked on, along with the support from our local businesses who strive to meet the continual growth and needs for affordable family recreation for North Platte and the surrounding areas.

Overall, tennis reported one of the highest rankings with respect to academic achievement (highest or second-highest across five separate measures – percentage of “A’s”, average grade, 10-or-more hours of homework per week, college attendance aspiration, and college graduation aspiration).

• The USTA Foundation Special Report has found that kids who play tennis are more likely to engage in healthy behaviors and volunteer in the community. Additionally, tennis positively influences the lives of U.S. school aged youth across all socio-economic levels.

• Tennis in elementary, middle school, high school and after-school programs is an excellent way to combat childhood obesity and reintegrate physical activity into the children’ everyday lives.

• Nearly 70% of all tennis is played on public park tennis courts. Park and recreation groups are vital to the health and growth of tennis. Several tennis legends, including Billie Jean King and Arthur Ashe grew up playing on public courts, as did Serena and Venus Williams and many other American tennis stars.

Because your story started somewhere...

...and that somewhere was North Platte High School. While the buildings may have changed, the drive and tenacity of the BULLDOGS has not. That spirit still lingers in the hallways. The stories that began while wearing the blue and gold are still being. The North Platte Public Schools Foundation has assisted the North Platte Public Schools since 1994. Becoming a member of the "Bulldog 100" your tax deductible donation will help supports future alumni and their NPHS story.

Your contribution is an investment in our future generation, a tribute to your memories and a testament to where your story began. Leave a Legacy ...Once A Bulldog…Always A Bulldog
