Unfortunately, there are students who come to school every day unprepared to learn. Oftentimes, the issues affecting the child’s ability to learn are small financially, but have a very large impact on their lives.

Since its creation in Spring 2010, NPPSF Prepared to Learn Program has already helped with broken eyeglasses, nutritional needs during the school day, lack of appropriate clothing, student activity cards, and necessary school supplies — just to name a few!

How are students selected for assistance?

In an effort to provide immediate assistance to students in need, all 13 schools in the North Platte School District have a Prepared to Learn Committee member in their building. Students are identified by a NPPS staff member, and Prepared to Learn committee members are ready to assist that student immediately.

What type of assistance is available?

Any type of assistance that will make a student more successful in the classroom will be considered. Community resources will also be used to help fulfill needs when available.

Our students need your help!

The Prepared to Learn program is 100% donor dependent. With your donation, we are able to reach out and help more students succeed in the classroom. Please consider giving to the Prepared to Learn Program. The NPPSF relies on the generosity of its alumni, community members, businesses and organizations to support our effort to ensure quality education for the children attending North Platte Public Schools. If you have any questions about donor opportunities, please contact the North Platte Public Schools Foundation office.
